Look how pretty!! The all around fffabulous InStyle editor Kahlana Barfield uses the Fornasetti Flora Lidded Candle container as a make-up brush holder. Clever and so pretty. More details on the Fornasetti Flora Lidded Candle on [fff].
Okay, I'll admit that I am a bit obsessed with Fornasetti in general and its candles in particular. The candles are one of these small pleasures in life that makes everything sophisticated and pretty. The Fornasetti Flora Lidded Candle is no exception: it features Fornasetti's house muse Lina Cavalieri in the guise of the mythical fertility goddess, it is colorful and fun; and just like any of its candles, it smells so yummy. Its musky floral scent created by master perfumer Emmanuel Philip blends notes of lily of the valley, white rose, orange blossom, jasmine, tuberose, sandalwood, and musk. Oh. My. God.
Another Fornasetti favorite: their candles. Why? They are original with beautiful designs—in this case with a lithographic image of house muse Lina Cavalieri's nose and red lips; they smell super yummy—in this case it's all about Fornasetti signature scent's warm Otto fragrance; imagine a mix of lavender, cedar wood, incense. Incroyable. And when 60 hours of burn time have passed, you can reuse this beautiful lidded ceramic container to store pretty much anything in the bathroom, at your desk or by your bed. Worth every penny; and makes for a beautiful hostess or birthday gift as well.
This is Diana Kruger wearing Stella McCartney's printed t-shirt from the Autumn '14 collection and 'playing with' the Hollywood sign. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.
Which reminds me of my bucket list item #33: Hike to the Hollywood sign next time I'm in LA. Preferably the Mila Kunis / Justin Timberlake way in Friends with Benefits. heart-shaped eyes smiley face emoji^3.
There is no end to my Louboutin obsession. This time, this comes in the form of those Iriza D'Orsay Pump in the most perfect blue. This is a great neutral color that will spice up any outfit, whether it be a little black —or white— dress, or distressed skinny jeans and a white tee. And, they are the perfect 100mm high. <3
They may not be a shoe you'd go for the first time you set your eyes on it because WTH would someone come up with red camo anything!!? Right? Right. I still ended up clicking the 'submit your order' button and next thing you know, these Valentino red camo stiletto heels are my new favorite pair of heels. To wear with pretty much *anything*. Compliments guaranteed. Note that I went half a size up in those.
In case you need more convincing, here is a pic of them in the wild on [fff].
New home décor obssession: Anything and everything Fornasetti. I am redoing the master bedroom, and of course, with new headboard comes new fancy pillows. And what's cooler than Fornasetti décorative pillows? The Tema pillow and the Silenzio pillow are original yet neutral and can be mixed and matched with colorful pillows. #BOOM
New day, new favorite brand of stiletto heels. The Sergio Rossi pointy toe heels are one of the comfiest heels around; and a new IntermixOnline obsession with #allthecolors. The style du jour: the Sergio Rossi Godiva Lizard Leather Pump. Classic nude with an edge. To wear night and day with pretty much everything. Fits true to size.
Blazing orange. Lace all over. This Sandro Rehab dress is superb. It has a romantic je ne sais quoi with a sexy edge. All in all, this is the perfect dress to wear at weddings this season.
Don't mind the 'on my way to Soulcycle' no make-up, hair up, sport bra look. I am way too aware that such dress requires the all around dolled-up look. To be paired with the Louboutin Pigalle stiletto heels in patent nude. In real life pictures to be posted soon. Just because.
Bright red. Structured with strategically placed cutouts in the front and in the back. Zipper in the front. A v-neck line for the most perfect cleavage. And that fabric that gives it such a modern look. SOLD. The Sandro Paris Relax Dress is a bit on the short side but hey! YOLO!
PS: Love that Bloomingdale's had those fancy black stiletto heels available in their fitting room. Planning to wear this dress with my Louboutin Pigalle stiletto heels in nude patent or my Louboutin stiletto heels in black. <3
I am that woman in black. I just love wearing black. There are millions reasons why one would wear black: It is slimming. Everything goes with everything. Coffee spills just never happened. It is incredibly sophisticated. Noone can tell when you wear that thing over and over again. Except that, in my case, I own *at least* ten little black dresses and people (read: guys in general, coworkers in particular) think I'm always wearing the same dress. The irony.
Anyway, I've decided to add more colors into my life. The plan is to start with a couple dresses that I'll wear at special events this summer. Because: baby steps. These are the dresses. Sandro dresses. Namely: the Sandro Paris Relax Cut-out Dress and the Sandro Paris Rehab Dress. In bright red and blazing orange. Stay tuned for actual descriptions of those dresses / dress rehearsal in the posts to come. #BOOM
These Louboutin Malabar Hill stiletto heels belong to a museum. In fact, I pondered whether I should ever wear them. Because they are perfect in every way. Classic black with killer details, i.e. just the right mix of soft leather, patent leather and black rockstuds. Add to these a pointy toe and a 100mm heel, and you have the whole package.
I wear these beauties at black tie events and cocktail parties with short dresses—got to show them off, or on a night out with skinny jeans; in all events, they always WOW the crowd. I am an 8.5 in general, and a 9.5 in those, fyi.
Don't overthink it and get those Louboutins already. Now. The Louboutin Pigalle are a thing and rightfully so. Get the 100mm, pointy toe, nude patent kind, and you will never have to shop for a pair of heels last minute ever again. Because they will be the shoe you'll wear when everything else fails. I am an 8.5 in general, and a 9.5 in those, fyi.
On a typical -day or- night out, you will either find me:
Out of battery. And in that case you don't want to come close to me. Or maybe you should because this is probably the only time I won't be glued to my phone. He!
Phone switched off because I have 5% battery left and I'll need those 5% to order an Uber eventually.
Standing by a power outlet, charging my phone so I can order my Uber as soon as my phone has come back to life.
Falling in love with a friend a bit more because they happen to have a battery pack handy. That would be my friend Sarah. I <3 you, Sarah.
Now, you may wonder why I haven't invested in that battery pack already. Like how hard can this be? Well, the only thing that has been preventing me from getting that life-saver Uber-friendly battery pack is #allthechoices—which one to get? and that I'll now have to also remember to charge that battery pack as well. Unless that battery pack doubles into a charging cable. Which happens to be what the JUMP cable is all about. Which means I am ordering it right now. And so should you because it's fffabulous, and chances are: I won't be sharing mine. Per the above. <3
This is everything. Of all the Oscar dresses last night, Scarlett's dress—and Scarlett Johansson herself—were my very favorites. The dress: Deep green. Fitted. Accessorized to perfection... That necklace, that hairdo, this 'port de tête'. Everything about it transpired elegance, confidence and feminine strength, and may I add power? Aaah, Scarlett. Thank you for the eye candy and the inspiration.
Muscle tops are #allthethings this season. And the Current/Elliott muscle top is about to become a staple—mark my word. Once you've found out which size you are in that top, just browse the web and order the ones that match your style best, i.e. take your pick amongst the cute quotes, fancy drawings, animal prints, or go totally plain or dramatically distressed. That said, I #superlove the Super Loved muscle top. Because what not to like about being super loved, and saying it out loud to the world?
Wait, what? A colleague of mine was sporting this Gap stud denim jacket the other day, and of course, I had to ask her everything about it. To my surprise, she had *just* gotten it, which meant I had a chance to get it, too. (yay). And, she had gotten it at Gap for $74.95. (double yay). So of course, I had to order it right away. And of course, I had to blog about it. Seriously, isn't it crazy adorable? And trendy? And adorable?
I love my H&M sequined skirt in bronze & army green. I noticed that it is now available in black. So, yes, I am gonna order it in black. Because it is fancy, festive and all around fabulous. And, Friday nights will never quite look the same. Click here to read our previous review of it.
The Valentino rockstud cage ballerina flats are everything. You can wear them all day, everyday and it's totally okay. Because they won't hurt (guaranteed), they go with everything, and they are fierce; they will literally stop people in their tracks, men and women alike. I pondering whether I should get them in another color. Hmmm, should I?
I didn't stop at the perfect leather jacket. I had to get the perfect cachemire cardigan, too. Margaret O'Leary has so many of those though that it's hard to choose. I did pick the St. Moritz Cachemire Cardigan in black—black again, I know, I know. It is so luxurious! It is made of heavy cachemire, it is extremely comfy, and so stylish with the drapes in the front and the big hoodie. It's been my perfect little travel companion. <3
Yup. This happened. I tried this Margaret O'Leary leather jacket, and that was it. I had to get it. Because it is the perfect leather jacket on so many levels. The leather is silky smooth, the blue lining is super cute, and the cut is modern yet classic. Throw this jacket on at night over a tank top, or wear it as a blazer during the day / at the office, and you'll be more than alright.
I crushed on this H&M sequined skirt in bronze & army green the minute I saw it in the store. But I didn't realize it was a real win until I stepped into the office and got three compliments in a row. Three!! On a $34.95 skirt!
I style this skirt with a white v-neck tee, a black blazer and black flats et voilà!! I am business ready AND extra comfy. I'll post a pic of the entire 'in real life' outfit very soon. Stay tuned.
I've had a crush on this pair of pendant earrings for a few years now. But I only decided to make the plunge a few weeks ago when I saw them again at the Lisa T Fine Jewelry boutique down in Los Gatos. I love the unique art déco style, the precious black onyx and diamonds combo, and the contrast against blond hair. Sold. #winning #blondshavemorefun
I am very picky with my lipsticks. I can't stand full coverage of traditional lipsticks, and I can't stand the stickiness of most lipgloss out there yet I need a bit of tint, and a ton of moisture. Fresh Sugar lip treatment and Stila lip glaze have been my go-to lipsticks for as long as I can remember. That was until I discovered Sharon Osbourne Patentpolish Lip Pencil for MAC Cosmetics. It is non-sticky, hydrating, easy to apply, and comes in amazing neutral colours. I love it so much I got two of them, in Ruby and French Kiss (obvi).
This Raquel Allegra racerback wife beater tank dress is probably my best purchase this year. I always need a go-to versatile summer dress for my annual trip to the French Riviera. Something I can wear to the beach over a swimsuit, that transitions nicely from day to night, and that I can wear over and over without looking like a total slob... So it can't be too short nor delicate yet it has to be sexy and form hugging, and different yet classic. Well, this dress is all of that and much more. Love the tie-dye stripes pattern, the below the knee length, the scoop neckline and the racerback back. And the ribbed jersey fabric texture follows the curves just the right way. A must-buy.
