the purse of my dreams

The Hermès Birkin purse, named for singer/actress Jane Birkin, is THE purse of my dreams. It's a classic yet very modern looking purse, and depending on the size you get, you can either wear it as a very nice evening purse or as a practical everyday purse, the J Lo or Julia Roberts way. The 'problem' (besides its price, but who is looking when it comes to Hermès? You'll wear it your entire life and so will your daughter later on) is that most Hermès stores don't have any for sale: they get sold as soon as they get in. And trust me, I've been to the ones in Boston and San Francisco, and many of the stores in France, and every time I get the same exact answer: you've got to put your name on the waiting list and come pick it up as soon it arrives. That's how popular the Birkin purse is! You don't even have a choice in color; you just get the color that 'gets in'. But since it's such a classy purse, it looks great in any shade...Victoria Beckham, a.k.a. Posh Spice, owns it in a million colors (may I borrow just one, pleeease?), Kimora Lee Simmons recommends getting one in a bold color such as pink or the amazing Hermès orange (I'd totally go for these colors!), and Carrie sports a light green one in crocodile in the Sex and the City movie. Oh, I SO want one!
